A New Quilt in the Making (Triangle Quiltalong)

I decided this week, instead of a new embroidery stitch, that I would blog about my endeavours in the Triangle Quilt Along with the lovely Paula Hughes...aka....The Sassy Quilter.I have been a follower of this lovely lady ever since I started blogging just a short year ago.  Yes, I am coming up for my very first anniversary in the blogging world.
You may have noticed on my side bar that I have The Sassy Quilter Button.   You can just click on that anytime and it will take you straight to her blog.   I also have on my sidebar the Triangle Quilt Along button.  This will also link you up with Paula and all the other wonderful quilting bloggers out there that are taking part in the Triangle Quiltalong as well.
When I started the TAL, I was only thinking about making a table runner.   I soon discovered that I had many more triangles than first thought, so I am going to turn it into a lap quilt.
I actually won these delightful fabrics in a little facebook competition.  The beautiful Amy Friend who writes the blog - During Quiet Time was having the giveaway sponsored by Sew Fresh Fabrics.

The first picture shows the beautiful aqua/blue fabrics I won.  I took this picture at night, so consequently they look darker than they really are.   I didn't try to edit the photo as that would probably have just made them washed out looking.   The true colours of these prints shows up much better in the following pictures.

Here is picture of them all cut into the appropriate size triangles, ready to start piecing.

I started to piece the triangles together systematically, but found that random worked much better.   Now, as you can see, this is another of my quilt works in progress.    I so hope to have completed all of my three WIPs quilts by the end of this year. I will bring you updates with my progress.

  5. I so enjoyed trying to keep up with your triangle quilt a long Paula. Unfortunately my backing fabric still has not arrived and it is only from another suburb of Melbourne....should have ordered from overseas, it would have made it here quicker LOL.
